Shall a measure establishing a new Gonzales sales tax that increases the total tax rate from 1.0% to 1.5% used for general government purposes such as maintenance of infrastructure and improvements (Fire House, streets, roads and sidewalks, parks) adding $800,000 in revenues annually, collected on an ongoing basis until extinguished and requiring all funds to stay local with independent citizen’s committee oversight and annual audits, be adopted?

Shall a measure to extend the term of the existing 1.0% Gonzales Temporary Transactions and Use Tax by twenty years, from 2044 to 2064, subject to continued independent audit and citizen’s advisory committee review, with all funds dedicated exclusively to Gonzales programs, projects and initiatives, and that will generate an estimated $1,500,000 annually, be adopted?

Shall the measure establishing a Special Temporary Gonzales Transactions and Use Tax at the rate of one-half percent (0.5%) for a term of 40 years through 2062, with all funds initially used exclusively for financing and funding the Gonzales Community Center Complex Project, and thereafter, upon full funding of the Complex, exclusively for street maintenance and repair, be adopted? The special tax would generate an estimated $750,000.00 annually.

Shall a measure to increase the Gonzales Temporary Transactions and Use Tax from one-half percent (0.5%) to one percent (1.0%), and extend the life of the tax by twenty years, subject to continued independent audit and citizen’s oversight committee review, with all funds dedicated exclusively to Gonzales programs, projects and initiatives, be adopted? The tax amendment would generate an estimated additional $600,000 annually.

Shall the City of Gonzales increase its Temporary Transaction and Use Tax from one-half percent (0.5%) to one percent (1%), and extend the life of the tax from ten to twenty years, subject to continued independent audit and citizens’ oversight committee review, with all funds being used exclusively for Gonzales programs, initiatives and projects? The tax amendment would generate an estimated additional $550,000 annually.

Shall the City of Gonzales Municipal Code be amended to add a “Commercial Cannabis Tax” on cultivation and manufacturing of medical marijuana where permissible by state and local law? The cultivation tax will not exceed $25 per square foot subject to increases after the third year based on the consumer price index, while the manufacturing tax shall not exceed 15% of annual gross receipts, both with no termination date, generating estimated revenues of $1,365,000?

To protect essential services, such as public safety and street and park repairs, initiate work on desired facilities like the community center and pool, continue the development of innovative programs for economic growth and youth, adult and senior activities, and address unanticipated debt, shall Gonzales enact a one-half percent (.50%) transactions and use tax, for ten (10) years, reviewed by a citizen’s oversight committee and annual independent audit, for use exclusively in Gonzales?
