City of Piedmont

To increase funding for essential police, fire, and paramedic services, maintain parks, greenspaces, and public areas, and preserve recreation, public works, and community services, shall Ordinance 771 N.S. be adopted to renew the City of Piedmont’s expiring four-year parcel tax with a twelve-year parcel tax with annual rates between $743 and $1,254 per single family residential parcel, $1,254 or $1,882 per commercial parcel, or $515 per multi-family dwelling unit, subject to CPI adjustment, raising approximately $3,272,000 annually?

Shall the City of Piedmont, to be in alignment with neighboring East Bay Cities, increase the real estate transfer tax from $13.00 to $17.50 per $1,000 of transfer price, generating $948,462 annually until ended by voters, to provide general tax revenue for city services and to repair and maintain city facilities including police and fire stations, parks, and recreation facilities, and other city infrastructure, be adopted?

Shall the measure to prevent permanent closure of Piedmont's Community Pool by constructing new pool facilities, restrooms and related areas, to conserve energy and water, provide greater community access and safety, and authorize Piedmont to issue $19,500,000 in bonds at legal rates, generating $1,257,950 annually at an average rate of 2.6 cents per $100 of assessed valuation while bonds are outstanding, with all money staying local and independent citizens' oversight, be adopted?

Shall Ordinance 746 N.S, which maintains essential police, fire, and paramedic services, prevents the reduction in maintenance of City parks, greenspaces and other public areas, and prevents the loss of recreational and other public services, by renewing the City of Piedmont's expiring parcel tax for four years, with annual rates depending on use between $551 and $1,395 per parcel, or $383 per dwelling unit, subject to CPI adjustment, raising approximately $2,424,620 annually, be adopted?

Shall the measure amending the Charter of the City of Piedmont to modify procedures for filling of vacancies in elected offices for City Council and Board of Education for the Piedmont Unified School District, modify term limits for the City Council, and making other clarifying amendments regarding City recordkeeping, format of City ordinances, public posting, City contract approval, operation of City Council meetings, and other minor technical amendments, be adopted?

Shall the measure amending the Charter of the City of Piedmont to clarify the duties and reporting structure for officers and employees of the City be adopted?

To maintain essential police, fire, and paramedic service, to prevent the reduction in maintenance in City parks, greenspaces and other public areas, and to prevent the loss of youth, family, and senior recreational and safety services, shall the City of Piedmont continue to authorize a parcel tax, replacing the existing Municipal Services Tax, as is more specifically set forth in Ord. 721 N.S. which is on file with the Piedmont City Clerk?

Shall Sections 2.01(D) and 8.01 and Section 7.05 of the Charter of the City of Piedmont be amended to conform the date of the City’s General Municipal Election with the date of the statewide General Election in November; and conform the annual selection of officers of the Board of Education to the requirements of the California Education Code, respectively as more specifically set forth in Resolution 71‐14 which is on file with the Piedmont City Clerk?

Shall the City of Piedmont, at City Council discretion, issue bonds or otherwise incur debt in a principal amount not to exceed $8,000,000 to refinance a portion of the City’s existing obligation to the California Public Employees Retirement System for the purpose of achieving debt service savings, as more specifically set forth in Ord. 711 N.S. which is on file with the Piedmont City Clerk?

To maintain essential police, fire, and paramedic service, to prevent the reduction in maintenance in City parks, greenspaces and other public areas, and to prevent the loss of youth, family, and senior recreational and safety services, shall the City of Piedmont continue to authorize a parcel tax, replacing the existing Municipal Services Tax, as is more specifically set forth in Ord. 707 N.S. which is on file with the Piedmont City Clerk?

Shall Chapter 20F be added to the Piedmont City Code providing for a new 10-year Special Municipal Sewer Surtax, as more specifically set forth in Ord. 699 N.S. which is on file with the Piedmont City Clerk?
