City of Port Hueneme

Shall the City of Port Hueneme change its name to the City of Hueneme Beach and amend its Charter to reflect the change of name?

To prevent elimination of the City's Police Department/maintain long-term financial viability/essential services including quick 911 response; gang, drug, crime prevention and investigations; street, storm drain, pothole and gutter repair; keep public areas clean and graffiti-free; and provide other general City services, shall the ordinance establishing a one-cent sales tax until ended by voters be adopted to provide $1,800,000 annually, requiring citizen oversight and independent audits, with all funds controlled locally?

Shall the ordinance be adopted to eliminate taxes on home-based businesses to promote small business growth, and increase and/or impose new taxes on other businesses for purpose of paying for general city services, such as public safety, street maintenance, beach and park maintenance and improvements, recreation programs, health and wellness programs for seniors and children, and other important community projects?
