City of Redwood City

Shall the measure to maintain local city services, such as: maintaining 911 emergency response/neighborhood police patrols; fixing potholes, repairing streets/sidewalks; maintaining on-duty firefighters/paramedics; and storm drains to prevent flooding; by modernizing the City of Redwood City business license tax base, and per employee rates between $10 and $250, with the highest fee on larger businesses, for general government use, as described in the ordinance, providing approximately $7,000,000 annually, until ended by voters, be adopted?

Shall the measure amending the Redwood City Charter to shorten the term of Mayor from two years to one year in order to allow more Councilmembers to serve as Mayor during their tenure on City Council, be adopted?

Shall the measure amending the Redwood City Charter to align the date of the Redwood City General Municipal Election with the Statewide General Election date, clarify the date by which Redwood City elections must be certified and City Councilmembers sworn in, and provide for election of City Councilmembers by-district in order to comply with State law, be adopted? 

Shall the measure funding police patrols, after-school recreation programs and other general city services by imposing a cannabis business tax on all cannabis (marijuana) businesses at an annual rate which shall not exceed 10% of gross receipts of each business, which is expected to generate an estimated $210,000 annually and will be levied until repealed by the voters, requiring annual audits and with all funds staying in Redwood City, be adopted?

Shall the measure amending the Charter to update certain provisions, including modernizing public notice provisions, establishing terms limits for City boards, requiring the budget to be submitted to Council 30 days before the new fiscal year, having the City Clerk appointed by the City Manager, eliminating a residency requirement for City Manager to comply with State law, updating procedures for City payments, and consolidating the roles of Director of Finance and Treasurer, be adopted?

Shall the ordinance to fund essential city services such as protecting rapid 911 emergency response times; preventing the number of on-duty firefighters/paramedics/police officers; continuing after-school/recreation programs for children; and maintaining local library hours/programs by establishing a 0.5% sales tax, providing approximately $8,000,000 annually until repealed by voters, with exemptions for essential purchases like food/medicine, annual audits and all funds staying in Redwood City, be adopted?
