City of San Anselmo

(INITIATIVE) Shall an initiative measure be adopted to withdraw the Town of San Anselmo, including all parcels of land in Town, from the Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Zone 9?

To continue expiring funding for San Anselmo Library to maintain library operating hours; increase book/ebook collections; maintain programs for children, families, seniors/people with disabilities; and maintain free internet access, computers/technology, shall the measure be adopted extending the existing San Anselmo library services tax at the existing rate of $70 per parcel, providing $320,000 annually, for nine years, with annual adjustments, mandatory audits, independent citizens’ oversight and all funds locally controlled for San Anselmo Library?

To maintain and enhance general Town of San Anselmo services and facilities such as repairing potholes, repaving roads, improving drought resilience, maintaining 9-1-1 emergency firefighter and paramedic response times, and improving fire protection, shall the Town of San Anselmo ordinance be adopted extending the existing voter-approved ½¢ sales tax for nine years and increasing the rate to 1¢, providing $2,400,000 annually for general government use, requiring independent citizen oversight, annual audits and all funds staying in San Anselmo under local control?

To maintain rapid 9-1-1 emergency response times and preserve the number of on-duty paramedics ready to respond to accidents/ medical emergencies, shall the Ross Valley Paramedic Authority measure be adopted continuing for four years the paramedic services special tax of $94.50 per residential living unit or 1,500 square feet of developed nonresidential property, adjusted up to $3 per year, generating approximately $560,000 annually, subject to annual audits, public spending disclosure and all funds for local paramedic services?

To restore and provide ongoing maintenance of 93-year-old Memorial Park, including replacing/repairing fields and playground equipment for safety, installing drainage, irrigation systems and new restrooms, improving senior accessibility with safe walkways, providing picnic areas, benches and shade trees, shall the Town of San Anselmo’s measure authorizing an annual tax of $98 per residential unit, with a senior discount, or per 1,500 square feet of non-residential use, providing approximately $500,000 annually for 30 years, with independent oversight, be adopted?

Shall the measure continuing the special tax for paramedic services for four years in the amount of $79.50 in the first year and increasing $4 annually to a maximum of $91.50 per taxable living unit, or per 1,500 square feet of structure on a developed parcel in nonresidential use, which will annually raise approximately $472,000 beginning in year one, and increasing the appropriations limit by the amount of said tax be adopted?

Shall an ordinance be adopted to amend the Town’s General Plan to affirm continued use of Memorial Park as primarily a recreational facility and to permit accessory use of Memorial Park for flood control by way of a detention basin only if a majority of voters approves a specific plan detailing development of the park for flood control following environmental review?

Shall there be a continuation of the four year special tax for paramedic services in the amount of $57 in the first year and raising the tax $6 annually to a maximum of $75 per taxable living unit, or per 1,500 square feet of structure on a developed parcel in non-residential use, with the appropriations limit increased by the amount of said tax for the next four years?

To maintain and enhance San Anselmo Library open hours, adult and children’s programs, and general library services, shall an ordinance be adopted approving a Special Library Services Tax of $54.00 per year per real estate parcel located in San Anselmo with a three percent (3%) annual cost of living increase, for a period of nine (9) years to augment money from the Town of San Anselmo’s funding of library services and with expenditures monitored by an oversight committee?

To repair potholes, repave roads, reduce traffic congestion, maintain and improve sidewalks/drainage/street medians, preserve public safety, and improve other general Town services, facilities, and infrastructure, shall the Town of San Anselmo establish a one-half percent (.5%) sales tax for ten years, with annual independent audits, mandatory public expenditure reports, and an independent citizens’ oversight committee with all funds staying in San Anselmo under local control?
