Local Campaign Finance Data Now Available

Oct 7, 2025 3 min read
We're excited to announce a major expansion to The Ballot Book: comprehensive local campaign finance data is now available for cities and counties across California.

What's New

You can now explore detailed campaign finance information for local political committees across 185 jurisdictions - 25 counties and 160 cities. We're tracking 9,467 political committees and over $1.3 billion in contributions.

What This Covers

This data includes committees that file their campaign finance reports directly with local election offices. For example, Santa Clara County includes committees that report at the county level, while individual cities like San Jose or Palo Alto would have their own separate data.
Each jurisdiction shows:
  • All active political committees and their financial summaries
  • Recent campaign finance activity
  • Independent expenditure reports showing outside spending
  • Contribution and expenditure totals

Current and Growing

The data is current and comprehensive, ensuring you're seeing the most up-to-date information available, and is updated daily across the entire site.
This represents the most comprehensive collection of local campaign finance data available for California jurisdictions.
